About the Rally

Island Rally is an offline arcade racer built around 17 Greek islands. Every circuit follows its island's mapped coastline, while real village names appear along the route. The racing line is fictional and is not the island's road network.

Choose from eight cars spanning the eighties through the 2000s. Their speed and handling are arcade-tuned from published weight, power, drivetrain and acceleration figures. Original low-poly artwork, synthesized engines and five original music themes complete the retro style.

How to play

  1. Choose Training, Competition or Tournament.
  2. Select an island circuit, car and difficulty.
  3. Accelerate when the five-second starting countdown begins.
  4. Follow the road and pass every black-and-yellow checkpoint mark.
  5. Use turbo charges on straights, collect replacements and land jumps cleanly.
  6. Finish quickly while protecting the car's condition.

Training

Practice a circuit alone with unlimited recovery.

Competition

Race six rivals with contact, damage, finishing order and difficulty.

Tournament

Carry finishing points, bonus points and total time across the championship.

Phone controls

Slide the right control upward for proportional gas and downward for brake or reverse. Two quick upward flicks into the TURBO zone activate a turbo charge. Slide the left control left or right to steer; it has a small dead zone around the centre and reaches full lock close to it. Optional tilt steering replaces the left slider.

Keyboard controls

Space accelerates. S, Down or Command brakes. A/D or the arrow keys steer. Shift activates turbo, E uses the handbrake, R recovers, C changes camera, Enter pauses or selects, and Escape pauses or goes back.
